Understanding the style of therapy you want

Welcome to our adult questionnaire page.

On this page, you can complete a short questionnaire—the Cooper–Norcross Inventory of Preferences–2 (C–NIP–2)—which is designed to help you reflect on, and communicate, your preferences for therapy. The C–NIP–2 explores how you would like therapy to feel, what kind of support you find most helpful, and how you would prefer to work with a therapist. The results can help you understand more about what you might want from therapy and support clearer conversations with your therapist about how therapy can work best for you.

We want therapy to be the best fit for you.

Please indicate your preferences for how a therapist or counsellor should work with you by checking one box on each row. A 3 indicates a strong preference in that direction, 2 indicates a moderate preference in that direction, 1 indicates a slight preference in that direction, 0 indicates no preference in either direction or an equal preference in both directions. Each set of options has two sides, so take a moment to consider both before you decide.
